Our extra-curricular highlights
Student Representative Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) at Bega High School plays a vital role in giving students a voice and shaping the culture of our school. Comprised of representatives from across all year groups, the SRC works closely with staff and the wider community to lead initiatives, organise events, and represent the interests of their peers.
Our SRC promotes student leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. Members are actively involved in decision-making, supporting school activities, and raising awareness about important social and cultural issues. They take a hands-on role in organising fundraising activities such as school carnivals, movie nights, Book Week celebrations, and the popular staff age-guessing competition. Funds raised have supported projects that directly benefit students, including the installation of air conditioning across classrooms.
Through the SRC, students develop confidence and leadership skills while making a tangible difference to school life. Their efforts help create a more inclusive, vibrant, and supportive environment for everyone at Bega High School

Our drama, music, visual and digital art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.
The Thimble Theatre enables students to create and practice drama creations.

Japan Cultural Exchange Tour
The Japan Excursion: A Journey to Remember!
Our 13-day Japan excursion was an incredible experience with lasting memories that will stay with us forever. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene beauty of ancient temples, the trip was a vibrant mix of culture, history, and adventure. The students immersed themselves in the lively atmosphere of Tokyo, exploring iconic districts like Harajuku and Shibuya, and enjoying the magic of Tokyo Disneyland. Each day brought a new discovery, with sights and sounds that captured the essence of Japan’s dynamic urban landscape.
The adventure didn’t stop there. We boarded the famous Shinkansen bullet train to Osaka, where we continued to explore Japan’s rich history and modern culture. The excitement peaked with a visit to Universal Studios Japan, where students enjoyed thrilling rides and attractions inspired by popular films and characters. Our journey also included two special visits to Japanese primary schools, where our students had the unique opportunity to engage with local children, participate in cultural activities, and experience the warmth of Japanese hospitality firsthand.
Our travels then took us to the historic cities of Kyoto and Nara, where students had the opportunity to walk through centuries-old temples, shrines, and magnificent castles. The sacred deer in Nara Park and the breathtaking views of Kyoto’s traditional gardens added to the charm of the experience.
It was an action-packed itinerary, filled with learning, cultural exchange, and unforgettable moments. Despite the busy schedule, the knowledge and perspectives gained along the way.
