High potential and gifted education

High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) at Bega High School

At Bega High School, we are committed to nurturing the unique talents and abilities of every student through a comprehensive High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program. Our inclusive approach ensures that students are supported to excel academically, creatively, and in leadership, preparing them for success both within our school community and beyond.

Elite Sporting Opportunities
We provide pathways for students to engage in elite sporting programs that develop physical skills, teamwork, and resilience. These opportunities complement our academic and creative programs, promoting a balanced and holistic education.

Bega Valley Community of Schools Student Voice and Leadership
Our students actively participate in the Bega Valley Community of Schools, where their voices are heard and valued. Through student leadership initiatives, including Junior AECG and SRC, students develop critical skills in advocacy, collaboration, and decision-making, empowering them to make positive contributions locally and globally.

Academic Extension and Enrichment with Individualised Learning
Recognising the diverse needs of high potential and gifted learners, our academic extension and enrichment programs provide tailored learning experiences. Individualised learning plans ensure that each student is challenged and supported to reach their full academic potential across all subject areas.

Sapphire Coast Learning Community Creative and Performing Arts
Students benefit from our strong connection to the Sapphire Coast Learning Community, engaging in vibrant, creative and performing arts programs. These experiences foster creativity, self-expression, and cultural appreciation, enriching our students’ educational journey.

At Bega High School, we cultivate an environment where high potential and gifted students are inspired to thrive, lead, and achieve excellence.
